Honda Passport Trailsport Off-Road Capabilities

Go Off-Road in Honda’s TrailSport Trim Level

Sometimes, SUVs with a rugged appearance and aggressive front fascia are all bark and no bite. They have the looks of a real-world, trail-tackling SUV but don’t quite measure up. Honda’s TrailSport trim models, however, have the looks and the capabilities.

The TrailSport trim is available on the Honda Pilot, Passport, and the Ridgeline. All three models feature a tough body design that sits on all-terrain General Grabber™ A/T Sport tires and a ground clearance that will impress. The Passport TrailSport features exclusive machined 18-inch wheels adorned with Pewter painted accents, and its stance and stability are enhanced by widening the front and rear tracks by 10 mm. The rugged off-road trim is made for the adventurer, and for 2024, the Honda Passport TrailSport is the most capable Passport model to date.

2024 Honda Passport TrailSport – Tuned for the Trails

The new Honda Passport TrailSport features a new and exclusive off-road tuned suspension with enhanced damper valve tuning, revised spring rates, and an optimized sway bar, reducing body roll and keeping the driver in control even over the roughest terrain. The Passport TrailSport achieves an optimized off-road experience without compromising on-road comfort to create a balanced and versatile vehicle. And, when you’re cruising through town, TrailSport's rugged good looks are made stunning by the newly available Diffused Sky Blue paint color. The interior features stand-out, orange contrast stitching, and the TrailSport logo embroidered on the front-seat headrests.

Trail Tested and Adventure-Ready

Tested in rigorous off-road locations like the Imperial Dunes (Glamis) in California and Dubai, the Honda Passport's advanced i-VTM4™ all-wheel-drive system sets it apart from other crossovers. This system, standard on all Passport models, optimizes control and traction by distributing up to 70% of engine torque to the rear wheels and dynamically dividing it between the wheels depending on the conditions. In challenging off-road scenarios, such as mud or deep sand, the i-VTM4™ system continuously routes torque to the wheel with the most grip, even if one rear wheel is airborne, ensuring steady traction and forward momentum.

The Passport has a standard four-mode Intelligent Traction Management system that enables drivers to tailor the i-VTM4™ system's response for various terrains such as sand, snow, mud, and pavement. Coupled with a significant 8.1 inches of ground clearance, the Passport is well-equipped to tackle challenging trails. Additionally, its robust 5,000-pound towing capacity means it can easily haul a sizable camper trailer or a collection of off-road vehicles.
